Want to employ an apprentice or trainee but don’t have the capacity to employ one because:
- you are unable to offer a permanent position;
- unable to guarantee ongoing work;
- don’t have the range of work available to satisfy the necessary job skills for the qualification; or
- simply don’t have the time to manage all the employment and training paperwork.
Then consider employment through a Group Training Organisation (GTO).
A distinctive feature of using our GTO members services, is that they provide a safety net for host employers who may be uncertain about their workflow or feel they don’t have the experience or resources to commit to an apprentice or trainee for the entire duration of the training contract.
What GTOs Do
GTOs employ apprentices and trainees and hire them out to other businesses referred to as the host employers. As the primary employer, GTOs assume the responsibilities for the quality and continuity of the apprentices’ and trainees’ employment and training, while your business reaps the benefits.
Our GTO members can coordinate all the processes involved in employing apprentices and trainees. They are also well known for providing ongoing training, support and pastoral care throughout the employment to guarantee successful outcomes.
A report by the National Centre for Vocational Education and Research, found that GTOs achieve ‘substantially higher’ completion rates for apprentices and trainees than direct employers in small and medium sized businesses.
What Regions of WA Do We Operate in?
Our GTO members operate in all regions of WA. Some specialise in particular industries while others cover many industries.
Use the ‘Find a GTO’ search function on this page, to connect with a member to help you employ an apprentice or trainee for your business.
